It all started on a sunny afternoon on August 15th, 2017 in South Delhi. Taruna was engrossed in her lunch and when she took her eyes off her plate she noticed a man who sitting in the opposite table and something in her told her to connect with this man.
She stood up and said “Hi” to him and the rest is history…!
That “Hi” transformed Taruna’s life magically. That’s why they say – You must listen to your inner voice.
And as Mohammed Rafi says, “A Prayer is you telephoning God and an Intuition is God telephoning you”. Taruna picked up the call from God.
Taruna felt the warmth in that man’s voice and absolute passion for the work he was doing.
You know – “When the student is ready the master appears”. She surrendered and he turned her into a Kohinoor.
Life was full of struggles and felt like an uphill task! She was like a building that appeared to be standing tall but the basic foundation underneath the building was in such a worn out state that the building was all set to simply come crumbling down any time.
Taruna Sharma was a Reiki master and healer.
Before she was introduced to the power of NLP training, through Magic of Change and Rafi, the problem was that while she was effectively healing the others, she was quite unaware of the extent of her own internal wounds and scars! She had got so used to giving up on her own needs and wants to meet the needs and wants of her loved ones that she lost touch with her own self and her identity! She had built a fortress of false beliefs all around her that, unfortunately, kept her caged under the multiple layers of illusions and distortions her mind created for her. Those false illusions and distortions were her defence mechanism against facing the reality and acknowledging her own deep pain. YOU can relate to that feeling of being caged, can’t you?
Taruna Sharma’s husband had stopped earning since around 2002 and he kept pressurizing Taruna to keep earning enough to run the house and maintain their lifestyle. Taruna had to step out and become the bread winner of the family. Initially things were manageable as it was just the two of them. In 2004 she gave birth to a girl, and 3 years down the line, a boy. Despite raising two infants, she was still expected to continue being the bread winner and manage all the household chores too. Many women in India go through similar sufferings, isn’t it? Sometimes they don’t realize that they are going into depression until it becomes severe.
It is sad how a majority of people can only think of physical violence and profane/fowl language when we talk about the term ‘Abusive’. Very rarely do people realize that abuse comes in many forms…including emotional abuse. Most people are not even aware of the existence of the concept of emotional abuse, let alone the awareness of the fact that they are themselves dealing with it.
Taruna kept defending her husband’s behaviour by feeding herself false beliefs about how he was trying hard but it seemed to be a bad phase of his life. Every time she questioned him he would come up with excuses which she readily accepted even though deep inside her heart she knew they were baseless. She was in a denial about the fact that her husband was simply in a comfort zone and so long as his needs were being taken care of, he didn’t really care about anything or anyone else. He would justify his laziness by saying that an astrologer had told him that this was a bad phase for him and that even if he tried hard he would fail. So he saw no point in trying and she simply accepted all his justifications. She kept working round the clock, tirelessly, and she felt like a donkey carrying a heavy load on its back. This was very depressive for her.
She had noticed that he barely took care of the kids in her absence and was even down right mean to them quite some times. The layer of illusion that she built around this one was that since he loved her so much, he could not bear to share her love and affection with anyone. Hence he was dispassionate towards the kids out of some childish jealousy. In her mind, she created a distortion about how he was as good as her child as against being her life partner. She told herself that her husband’s jealousy towards the kids, especially the first born was like a case of sibling rivalry! She didn’t see the fact that he kept her away from the kids because for him she was the money making machine and the kids were a distraction!
For years she wove these intricate layers of false beliefs and illusions that kept her far away from the reality. She got so used to accepting all the excuses he came up with and eventually gave up questioning him altogether. And she was literally in Depression but didn’t know what to do about it.
During the NLP practitioner training in Hyderabad, Rafi was able to identify the root cause of this behaviour pattern of creating distortions instead of confronting the reality. As a teenager, she had witnessed her father doing the same with her mother and she had helplessly watched her mother single handedly slog away to make the ends meet while her father would lay sprawled around the house like a couch potato. Through the model of Figure of 8, Taruna was able to remove the memory that was haunting her. And Rafi reprogrammed her mind with new embedded beliefs. Boom…….! 15 years of suffering vanished in just 50 minutes!
For the first time, Taruna felt LIBERATED. And every human wants to be liberated, isn’t it?
Rafi had identified that Taruna had a lot of hurt metaphors in her unconscious mind and in her language. Using metaphorical reprogramming, Rafi enabled her to get rid of her hurt metaphors and then Rafi imprinted more resourceful metaphors in her mind.
Considering that Taruna was a healer herself, and that she had attended various workshops in the attempt to work on herself, she was also aware about the tools and coaching and therapy. Hence it was even more challenging for any trainer to break her patterns. And that’s where Rafi very intelligently and wisely brought in the element of reverse psychology and simply shattered Taruna’s patterns into a million pieces. It was an irreversible change in her life and that opened her up for further and deeper transformation. She acknowledged the fact that while the other trainings that she had attended may have helped her in some ways, but what she managed to do in 6 years based on the other trainings, was far less than what she had accomplished in just 5 days of NLP practitioner training with Rafi. That’s how powerful NLP tools are when you learn it right, from the right trainer.
Using the meta models, Rafi was also able to peel of all the layers of illusions and distortions that Taruna had built around herself. She was able to get a reality check finally. And once she was free from the cage of these distortions, she was ready to fly!
The first thing she did, after the training, was confront her husband about his behaviour and when it was evident that things were not going to change, she took the decision to part ways and put an end to the abuse. It was the biggest and the best decision of her life. Her children were 14 and 11 by then. But with continuous support from the Magic of Change family, Taruna was able to stick to her decision and strongly push forward. She congruently stood by her decision to leave behind the life that was giving her no peace, happiness and growth. The sky was her limit after that. Can YOU imagine that feeling of being able to break free from the cage and flying high up in the sky? A free bird!
Because of this intense and almost magical transformation, Taruna came back for NLP Master Practitioner training in 2021, after she closed the loop of her separation and settled down with her kids.
By attending the advanced level courses like ‘ NLP Master Practitioner training’, ‘Beyond Mastery’, ‘The Art and Science of Neuro Hypnotic Story Telling’ with Magic of Change, Taruna has constantly upgraded herself. And as a result she has been able to grow her professional life and financial stability by leaps and bounds.
Before NLP Training, Taruna used to charge just about Rs. 500 per session of healing she used to offer to her clientsu and after the advanced NLP Master Practitioner training, she was able to grow 10X. She then started charging a minimum of Rs. 5000 for an hour long session of healing. Earlier Taruna had such limiting beliefs about money and about her own capability to make that kind of money. She was not sure that the healing that she offered was worth that much. During a coaching session Rafi got her to break free of the shackles of her limiting beliefs and realize her own worth. She is tremendously skilled, she is capable and she is unique! She is worth it!
Today she is travelling all around the country, healing people from different walks of life. She is now on her path to become an NLP specialist as well. She is currently undergoing the apprenticeship course under Rafi. Now, as a healer, Taruna not just heals the body, but she heals the mind too! And she is now charging Rs. 10,000 for each session, which is a whopping 20 times growth! Such is the Magic of Change!
The story of Taruna’s transformation can be a stellar example for so many women in India who may be going through a similar situation like her but don’t know how to come out of the problem.
